Story
Sophie's interest in the environment was sparked by her eight-consecutive years at summer camp at a young age. Since then, she has continued to work in the environmental space, having graduated from the University of Guelph with a focus in environmental economics and worked previously for the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority as a tree planter. When living in Guelph, she volunteered in various local community events relating to environmental restoration and textile recycling initiatives. As she completes her master's degree in Vancouver, Sophie is interested in the intersections between climate change and health, evolution of climate change policy in Canada, the rights of nature movement and creative ways to reuse and recycle material. Sophie enjoys listening to stories and appreciating visual art as a way of communicating our individual and collective life experience.
