In mid-July Wildsight's Youth Climate Corps crew had the unique opportunity to get their hands wet with Living Lakes Canada.
The crew from East and West Kootenay visited Premier lake to learn about water-monitoring, a form of data collection that is essential to maintaining the health of ecosystems across the country. Water monitoring done by living Lakes Canada helps researchers, policy makers and individuals make informed decisions about the future of watersheds.
Over the course of two days Wildsight's YCCBC teams learned how to use water monitoring equipment and discussed Canadian water management. They also completed a shoreline assessment and participated water testing under the guidance of Living Lake's team.
